On The Ball FC
Changing lives through football
On the Ball FC is a football club with a difference. Established as a way to raise funds for, and awareness of, international sport for development charity Africa on the Ball, On the Ball FC now runs 3 teams under the banner of the Fair Play Foundation, with further plans to grow the pathway.
OUR STORY
On the Ball FC was started in 2016 by Africa on the Ball Co-Founding Trustee Andrew Jenkin as a means of raising funds for and awareness of the charity in Scotland. The club was founded on the principles of tolerance, equity and sport for all - aiming to provide opportunities for individuals to participate in the beautiful game where other clubs might not.

The club essentially operates as a social enterprise, receiving income from membership and sponsorship and donating whatever remains (after the costs associated with running the club have been met) to Africa on the Ball's work.
An initial team in the form of Glasgow on the Ball started out in the Scottish Unity League before moving into the Glasgow Community and Cooperative League in 2017 where it has been competing since.

In 2019, the club grew by adding a second amateur men's team, Glasgow on the Ball United, who also compete in the Community and Cooperative League. In 2022, we announced we would be forming a men's over 35s team which are due to compete in the Central Region League this March.

To date, On the Ball FC has raised over £10,000 for the work of Africa on the Ball and has undoubtedly grown the profile of the charity's work within Scotland. We have plans to add new teams and activities in the future, so if you'd like to play, but we don't currently offer something for you - let us know, we'd love to have you involved!
